The project YoTeCuido makes us feel more proud than any other. Starting from our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, which allows us to dedicate part of our working time to non-profit projects, we decide to focus on trying to solve a problem which we suffered closely: the lack of information and support for relatives of people affected by alzheimer. With that idea on mind, we contacted with AFACO (Asociación de Familiares de Personas con Alzhéimer de A Coruña) to ask about their collaboration and partnership in the project, and also with a caregiver who contributed with content and her own experience.
The result: a free app for Android and iOS which serves as support and source of information on a daily bases both for affected people (diagnosed in phase 1) and relatives and caregivers. The app had a good acceptance (near to 10.000 downloads today) on the market and thanks to the SmartCAT Challenge, it served as a baseline to conduct a pilot study on the city of Terrassa.
Apart from design and implement the app, we published it in Google Play and the App Store following the ASO criteria. We also designed the informative website www.yotecuidoalzheimer.com and we handled the creation and sending of press release notes (+ images kit) to several news agencies and specialized (medical) media corporations from Spain and LatinAmerica.
